Good Food Friday Treats :: Nadia’s Kale Chippies

So my lovely friend Nadia (from Micro Mania – micro greens) and her little poppet Amie, paid us a visit today with huge box of kale in tow.  Nadia promised to show me how to make her wonderful kale chips – and I tell you, they were every part the chip I had hoped they would be.

Haven’t met Kale before?  Neither had I.  I have wanted to meet Kale for quite some time but have never been able to hunt him down.  I now have a fridge full and I am one happy little camper.  Kale is a form of cabbage and is loaded with anti cancer properties and is a anti-inflammatory.  It’s a good one to track down and include in your diet to give your health a boost.

This is probably the easiest recipe I have ever blogged!

Nadia’s Kale Chips

several large leaves of kale

olive oil

a large pinch of seasalt

Method: separate kale leaf into smallish shreads (approximately chip size) being sure to pull away the vein of the leaf (I’m told it’s tough to eat)

In a bowl, combine kale, oil and salt and stir well.

Arrange on a baking dish lined with baking paper.

Place into a moderate oven for approximately 10 minutes – where you will then turn down the heat of the oven to approx 100 degrees.  Continue to watch chips until they begin to shrivel and are crispy (approx another 10 minutes).
